In 1 Corinthians 12:28, the Greek word for administration is kubernesis. It is translated in a variety of ways but predominately as administration, governing and guidance.
In reality, it means more than that. Its connotation is that it is a helmsman. A helmsman on a ship steers the ship along the course the captain plots.
In other words, it puts legs and structure to the vision. It is creating structure and systems to handle the vision that any organisation has.
With over 40 years of dedicated experience in church volunteer ministry, coupled with extensive expertise in not-for-profit governance, and more than 25 years in business administration, our team is uniquely equipped to assist you in achieving your goals. We are committed to providing the support and guidance necessary to help you thrive and succeed in your mission.
At Kubernesis Consulting our heart is to help establish God's kingdom on earth. We do this through predominately partnering with Christian organisations regardless of their size. We want to help you find ways where you can be more effective in outworking your part of God's plan.
Our team helps you uncover any cracks or missing pieces in your governance—whether they’re in policies, processes, decision‑making structures, or accountability pathways. From there, we walk alongside you with the additional support, tools, and expertise needed to address those challenges and build a stronger, more resilient organisational foundation.
We exist for any expression of God’s kingdom. We want to partner with Kingdom minded people who are desiring to best handle the growth that they are believing God for.
We want to partner with Churches to help them find and develop leaders, to run their administration in a way that is effective and does not take away from ministering to the needs of their people and communities.
A not-for-profit has a mission to reach people. We want to help you achieve this mission through partnering with you to ensure you are using your resources effectively enough so that you achieve maximum impact.
If you’re a believer running a Kingdom‑focused business, we come alongside you to help carry the administrative load. By simplifying compliance and removing unnecessary red tape, we free you to focus on what matters most—serving your customers with excellence and advancing the Kingdom through your work.
Needing specific knowledge? Looking for a way to increase your understanding of an area of business administration? We continually look at developing resources and short courses aimed to help you in the day to day running of your church, not-for-profit or business.
Introducing our upcoming book and training course – “The One Who Aids” Understanding the Ministry of Helps will bring an extra level of release to church and organisations. This book is an updated version of the late Pastor Trevor Loveday’s Ministry of Helps book. Coupled with Shannon’s church and organisational experience, this book aims to bring insight into this spiritual gift and how it releases the body of Christ.
